Looking for a better life for his family and an end to persecution, the father of young Anya and Tanya leaves Russia for New York City, promising he will send for his daughters soon. A year later, the sisters endure a harrowing ocean journey to join their father, only to find he is not at Ellis Island to meet them. Will the family ever reunite?
